About The Fund

Investment Aim

To seek long-term capital appreciation of the assets of the Trust by investing primarily in equity securities of corporations in Asia (excluding Japan) with an emphasis on such corporations whose equity capitalisation is, in the view of the Managers, small to medium at the time of investment in relation to any of the markets in Asia (excluding Japan) in which the Trust is permitted to invest.

About the Investment Strategy

The Fund places most emphasis on identifying the best investment opportunities and on calibration of the right investment weigh to develop a focused and yet adequately diversified portfolio.
Targets excellent returns by generating original investment insights early and consistently and seeking to profit from inefficiently priced stocks.
The Fund may invest in countries like Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and any other countries in Asia (excluding Japan).

The CPF interest rate for the Ordinary Account is based on the 12-month fixed deposit and month-end savings rate of the major local banks. With effect from 1 January 2008, an additional 1% per annum will be paid on the first S$60,000 of a CPF member's combined balances, including up to S$20,000 in the Ordinary Account. In addition, the interest rate for the CPF Special Account will be pegged to the yield of 10-year Singapore government bond plus 1%. Nevertheless, the CPF Board will pay a legislated minimum annual interest rate of 2.5% on the CPF Ordinary Account and for 2008 and 2009, a minimum annual interest rate of 4.0% on the CPF Special Account.
